This Privacy Policy explains how MiTravel may collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use our website, mobile app, waitlist, and related services.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the MiTravel website, partner page, waitlist flow, contact flows, and the MiTravel mobile app to the extent those services link to this page.
2. Information We May Collect
Depending on how you use MiTravel, we may collect:
- Contact information, such as your email address, when you join our waitlist, contact us, or create or use an account.
- Account and profile information, such as your name, sign-in details, preferred departure information, and traveler preferences.
- Travel and rewards information, such as searches, search history, itineraries, bookings, loyalty-program details, reward balances, and preferences you choose to provide.
- Support information, such as the messages you send us, your booking reference, the reason for your request, and related ticket details.
- Location information if you allow the app to access location in order to suggest nearby or more relevant departure options.
- Regional or device signals, such as timezone, IP address, browser, device, and network information, which may help us operate and personalize the service.
- Voice-search input if you choose to use microphone and speech-recognition features.
- Payment and checkout-related information, such as payment setup or checkout session details connected to travel purchases or payment methods.
- Offer and comparison information returned by travel and booking providers, such as booking availability, baggage information, fare rules, loyalty context, and related offer details.
3. How We Use Information
We may use personal information to:
- Operate and maintain the MiTravel website and related services.
- Manage waitlist signups and contact users about early access or product availability.
- Authenticate users and support sign-in flows, including Apple and Google sign-in where used.
- Provide search, comparison, booking, rewards, profile, support, wallet, and payment-related features.
- Show more relevant travel and reward options based on your searches, preferences, departure context, and account information.
- Save and restore search sessions, results, and related planning context so you can continue a trip search later.
- Respond to partnership, support, or general inquiries.
- Improve the product, reliability, and user experience.
- Protect our services from abuse, misuse, fraud, or security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. How We May Share Information
We may share information with:
- Service providers that help us operate MiTravel, such as hosting, form, email, infrastructure, authentication, and support providers.
- Platform providers such as Apple or Google where required for app distribution, sign-in, or related app functionality.
- Payment and checkout providers such as Stripe when you use payment-related features.
- Travel, booking, comparison, and loyalty-related providers when needed to return offers, support bookings, surface reward information, or help complete the services you ask us to provide.
- Authorities or third parties when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights and safety.
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
We do not sell personal information.
5. Third-Party Services
The current website uses third-party services including our waitlist form provider Tally and our hosting/deployment providers. If you submit information through a third-party service, that provider may process information according to its own privacy policy in addition to this one.
The app may also rely on third-party providers for sign-in, payments, travel-search results, reward and booking context, support workflows, and Apple Wallet-related functionality. When you interact with those features, those providers may process certain information according to their own privacy terms as well as ours.
6. Cookies and Tracking
MiTravel may use cookies, similar technologies, and server-side logging to keep the site working, understand service performance, support sign-in and embedded tools, and improve the user experience. Based on the current public website implementation, we do not currently present the site as using a consumer-facing advertising or behavioral tracking setup in the way large ad-supported platforms often do.
7. App Permissions
The current iOS app may request the following permissions when relevant to a feature you choose to use:
- Location access, to suggest Discover deals from a nearby departure city or airport and help personalize travel discovery.
- Microphone access, for voice-based flight search.
- Speech recognition access, to convert spoken search into text.
If you do not grant these permissions, the related feature may not work, but you can continue using other parts of MiTravel.
8. Local Device Storage
MiTravel may store certain information locally on your device to help keep you signed in, restore app state, remember recent searches, or support related app functionality. Based on the current implementation, some session-related information may be stored using iOS local storage mechanisms such as UserDefaults. This may evolve as the app security model matures.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, manage waitlist and contact requests, operate the business, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Unsubscribe from marketing communications.
12. Children's Privacy
MiTravel is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can review and delete it if appropriate.
13. International Users
If you access MiTravel from outside the country where our services are operated, your information may be transferred to and processed in other jurisdictions where privacy laws may differ.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of MiTravel after updates means the revised policy will apply.
